Nobel Prize Chemistry 2007
This year’s nobel prize in chemistry goes to Gerhard Ertl who did fundamental research on chemistry at solid surfaces.
This year it seems to be the year of “nobel prizes only go to people born in the 1920s and 30s.”

The present day life’s work awards are quite a change from Nobels original will: “The capital shall be invested by my executors in safe securities and shall constitute a fund, the interest on which shall be annually distributed in the form of prizes to those who, during the preceding year, shall have conferred the greatest benefit on mankind.”
